-the first snowfall
-the laughter of my friends
-the scurry to find your scarf before heading out the door
-one of my best friends wedding
-seeing my friends' kids grow up
-seeing my friends grow up
-spending Thanksgiving with Grandma
-not being the ONLY family to celebrate Thanksgiving in a 100km radius
-feeling the cold chill in the evenings
-looking at the frost on the windows
-etching your name into the frosty windows
-de-icing my eyelashes in the winter
Sounds odd to miss all these things. But, for whatever reason, MN still holds my heart. I love driving the section from Stillwater to Wisconsin and being able to see the Welcome sign.. it just makes me melt.

Funny, most of the things you listed (well, those pertaining to the cold anyway) are the things I DREAD! Maybe it's because the season of scraping frost from car windows is right around the corner and the first snowfall always leads to many more. Crikey, I dream of hearing Aussie accents all year long. I guess, we only want what we can't have...
I know, I had a bit of a chuckle after I wrote the list as well... I dreaded all those cold items as well. The only thing I really loved was being able to sit on the couch and look out the patio doors and watch the snow fall.
However, I think I want all those cold things just for a day, especially when its going to be a very hot hot day here.
Maybe its just a MN home feeling...
you need to come back here, soon. :)
